Gerald Baldivia, FICD
Managing Director
Prior to Angeon Advisors, Gerald was Executive Director at ATR Asset Management (ATRAM), where he was involved in portfolio analytics, risk management, marketing, sales, and investor relations. Earlier, Gerald worked on: project finance and private equity (covering investments in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) at the International Finance Corporation (the private-sector arm of the World Bank Group); equity analysis at Société Générale and at ATR KimEng / Peregrine Securities; trade and political risk insurance at American International Group in New York; and credit at Far East Bank and Trust Company. He has been a speaker and panelist at private equity, liquid equities, and project finance conferences in the Philippines and abroad. Gerald earned an MBA at Columbia University and a BS (cum laude) in Business Administration at the University of the Philippines (UP). He is a board member of eight ATRAM mutual and closed-end funds having combined AUM of about USD 60 million and is an independent director of General Milling Corporation (GMC). Gerald is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Nathan Chua, CFA
Director | Singapore
Nathan possesses over 30 years’ experience in finance and investments, having worked at various major banks and hedge funds. He was the Managing Director for a multi-family office, headed the Singapore operations of Argo Capital Management (Asia) Ltd., served as Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management for ABN AMRO Bank, and worked in fixed income sales, trading, and private banking at Merrill Lynch Singapore, Citibank in Manila, and Chase Manhattan in New York. Nathan earned his MBA from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business and his undergraduate degree in Management Economics from ADMU. He is a CFA charterholder. Nathan completed the Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Certificate Program in Financial Inclusion.

SP Sumulong, RFC, CWM
Director
A co-founder of Angeon, SP is a member of the Philippine Bar and has practiced law for over nearly 40 years, amassing experience in corporate law, franchises, taxation, project finance, and litigation. Currently, he serves as board director, and/or corporate secretary, and/or in-house chief legal counsel for a number of business groups, notably for the Mugen Group, which operates well-regarded Japanese F&B and restaurant brands such as UCC Coffee, MOS Burger, Coco Ichibanya, and Mitsuyado Sei-Men; for the Global Electric Transport (GET) Group, which is developing inspiring electric vehicle mass transit solutions; for GMC, and for Alchemco Philippines, Inc. Until recently, SP was based in Hong Kong, where he was a senior executive at a provider of international corporate and trust services for over 12 years. Prior to that, he was general counsel for a number of publicly listed companies in the Philippines and earlier was a partner at a prestigious local law firm. SP received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and his BS in Business Management from the De la Salle University (DLSU). He is a Registered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Wealth Manager.

Sandy Gilles, CFA
Director | Sydney
Sandy is an assistant financial planner at Price Financial Intelligence Pty. Ltd. in Thornleigh, New South Wales. In the 1990s, he was an Equity Analyst at James Capel Philippines, Anscor Hagedorn, and Citibank Securities. From 1999 to 2008, Sandy taught finance at DLSU’s Graduate School of Business and at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). From 2009 to 2021, he lectured on “Stock Markets for Beginners” for First Metro Securities Brokerage and the Philippine Stock Exchange. Sandy often shared his views on ANC’s "Market Edge" and on TV 5’s “One News” programs. He holds a BA (cum laude) in Communication from UP and a Master’s in Applied Business Economics from UA&P. Sandy moved to Australia in 2021. There, he earned a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning in May 2024. Sandy received the CFA designation in 1997.

Norvin Villa, CPA
Investment Officer
Norvin has over two decades’ experience in accounting and financial and business analysis. Before joining Angeon over 10 years ago, he was a Senior Portfolio Operations Manager at Infinit Outsourcing, Inc., a firm supporting hedge fund managers in the developed markets. Prior to that, Norvin was an Accountant with J.P. Morgan Securities Philippines, Inc. and a Financial Analyst at San Miguel Corporation. He concurrently performs M&A analysis for Owner Actions, Inc., a consultancy in Ohio catering to investors in U.S. SMEs. Norvin has himself been an angel investor in local startups, such as ones involved in grooming services and distribution of own-brand drip coffee. He received his MBA from UP and his BS in Accountancy from the Rizal Technological University. Norvin is a Certified Public Accountant and has passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 Examination.

Kip Thompson
Chairman Emeritus
Kip was Managing Partner at Portland Private Equity, a successful fund manager focused on growth opportunities in the Caribbean Basin. Previously, he had spent 19 years with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, part of the World Bank Group). Kip was stationed in Manila as IFC’s Country Manager for the Philippines in 1991-96. Earlier, he served as Treasurer and as Senior Project Manager at the National Energy Corp. of Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) and as the General Manager at T&T Bagasse Products Ltd. Kip earned an MBA at Columbia University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of the West Indies.
